Transparency is a prerequisite for long-lasting trust. We at Welttierschutzgesellschaft rely on a high degree of transparency and care in dealing with your donations. Therefore, our work is always reviewed comprehensively and we inform our supporters in detail.

In addition, Welttierschutzgesellschaft is a member of the Initiative Transparente Zivilgesellschaft (ITZ) (Transparent Civil Society Initiative) and is thus committed to voluntarily making available a plus of information that goes beyond the legal publication obligations for civil society organisations in Germany. Welttierschutzgesellschaft (WTG) e.V. is a non-profit association based in Berlin, Germany (e.V. stands for registered association). The association was founded in 1998 in Bonn, Germany. The organisation is based at Reinhardstraße 10, 10117 Berlin.

Our vision is a world in which animals are perceived by people and treated respectfully and in an animal-friendly way.

Through projects in developing and emerging countries, as well as political and public animal welfare campaigns in Germany, we aim to build the foundation required to achieve long-term improvements to living conditions of stray, farm and wild animals worldwide. For each of our projects, we chose a local partner organisation to work with, involve the local population and provide financial and technical expertise.

The tasks and objectives of Welttierschutzgesellschaft e.V. are laid down in a binding manner in our statutes. The purpose of the organisation according to paragraph 2 is the promotion of animal welfare. You can download the statutes here: PDF Statutes.

Is the work of the Welttierschutzgesellschaft charitable?

Yes, our work has been recognised as a charitable purpose for the advancement of animal welfare (notice of exemption from the tax office Berlin for corporations, stamp number 27/681/53546, from 01 October 2021).

Use of funds

In 2022, of every euro spent:

  • 84 cents for statutory project, campaign and information work at home and abroad,
  • 9 cents for donor support and information and
  • 7 cents for necessary administrative tasks.

Affiliation under company law

There were no corporate affiliations with third parties in 2022.

In 2022, the organisation did not receive any donations and general grants that each exceeded more than 10 percent of the full annual budget.
